Children will create many wearable art pieces that they will cherish for a long time to come. Some of
these activities include:
Tie-dye - Tie-dying is accomplished by folding the material into a pattern, and binding it with string or
rubber bands. Dye is then applied to only part of the material. The ties prevent the entire material from
being dyed. Designs are formed by applying different colors of dyes to different sections of the fabric.
Once complete, the material is rinsed, and the dye is set
Femo bead making - Fimo beads are handmade beads created with polymer clay. This special type of
clay, sold under the brand name Fimo, is created from PVC plastic and a plasticizer chemical that keeps
the clay moldable and soft until it is cured. Fimo clay is also rather unique in that it can be fired in your
home oven and does not need a special kiln. Fimo jewelry is very popular among teens and young adults
because the beads are available in a variety of colors and designs. You can find tie-dyed, animal print,and
striped beads. Larger Fimo pendants can also be made into funky designs such as a sun, moon, flower,
peace sign, dove, or unicorn.

because they are fun, but also because you can share your friendship bracelets with friends – making
friends and being social is a big part of being a tween. There are all different types and patterns of
